To deliver the Intel Platinum Summit (IPS) event for 800 delegates (a combination of fee paying delegates, sponsors, press and Intel staff) over three days.
With a showcase exhibition for 60 sponsors across three tiers of stands (silver, gold and platinum), as well as numerous breakouts throughout the venue, a key test was to ensure there was enough space throughout the exhibition hall for all participants.
In addition to delivering the event’s construction and logistics, our challenge – given the size and complexity of the event – was to inform, engage and communicate with delegates across multiple platforms and provide revenue streams through sponsor branding.
What we did
To create effective communication across the event, Smyle implemented a suite of creative solutions including a bespoke newspaper and a 24-hour TV channel filmed throughout the event and broadcast on multiple screens across the venue.
Given the high demand for stands and limited space, Smyle produced a suite of ultra detailed CAD drawings which enabled us to squeeze every square inch out of the venue and to create additional space not normally used for events.
We managed the event’s main plenary session – incorporating a mix of both internal and external speakers (including actor James Caan) – from pre-event presenter management to motion graphics, scheduling of rehearsals, set design and construction, technical delivery, sim-tran, and a host of other aspects including choreography of demonstrations live on stage.
In addition, we also created a series of digital touch tables, a downloadable app for delegates to share information and a dedicated green screen studio for sponsors to create adverts on site.
Overall, we were responsible for scenic construction, design and build of exhibition stands, marketing and sale of exhibition stands, sponsor management, technical production, event production/management, logistics, artist and speaker management, video filming, editing and streaming, digital/web design and build, graphic design, presentation design and motion graphics.
And if that wasn’t enough, we also organized the Conference Gala Dinner on a five-star boat on the Thames, transferring guests using classic London Routemaster buses.
In conjunction with Intel and their global partners, Smyle developed the marketing, gives and gets and collateral, as well as selling the stands.
Recognised by Intel’s Head of Events, our team’s “attention to detail”, “can-do commitment” and “continuous improvement and creative thinking behind such deliverables as ISS TV and the IPS newspaper… set a precedent where the expectation is one of fully professional journalistic and TV reporting.”
